Science And Social Studies
I believe in integrating science and social studies with math and language curriculum. These lessons are great opportunities for building vocabulary, background knowledge, and igniting a spark in students.I always provide additional experiences for students to explore as enrichment in my classroom. In addition to grade level curriculum, these areas allow for student questions to be answered through additional independent research. Using QFT (Question Formulation Technique), I am able to engage all students to actively participate in lessons. I have studied the NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and have developed lessons to support students as they engage, experience, and explain with evidence. I have found KWL (Know, Want to Know, Learned) and a driving question board to be helpful for students to invest in their own learning.
